Painting Courses
Painting in Oil with Katharina and Christiane Kubrick, and Watercolour with Camilla Clutterbuck.
If you've always wanted to have a go at painting but didn't know how or where to begin then a Childwickbury Art Weekend is the perfect starting point.
Choose either a day or weekend as an introduction without the commitment of weeks of classes, and then book more weekends as and when you want.
The classes are held in a Victorian stable block near St Albans, Hertfordshire and are open to all abilities including complete beginners.
You will receive tuition in composition and colour mixing enabling you to develop your technique and personal style with confidence. The classes are relaxed and friendly and everyone is made to feel welcome and at ease.

Please note: The website doesn't always show if classes are fully booked as we do not want to deter people from enquiring. If they are fully booked then we can add your name to the waiting list but it may mean attending at short notice.

£100 for the weekend
£50 for one day
The classes are non-residential and run from 10am to 5pm. You can book for a single day or for the weekend. The fee includes use of a large supply of still life materials, an easel and a painting trolley.

If you have no materials we can provide all the equipment you need for an additional cost:
OIL = £15 which provides a 40 x 50 cm canvas and use of the class paints and brushes.
WATERCOLOUR = £5 which provides specialist paper and use of the class paints and brushes.

Payment is required at the time of booking which will also guarantee your place. We often have a waiting list for both Oil and Watercolour courses so if payment hasn't been made by two weeks prior to the course your space will be offered to someone else.
No refunds are available from one week before the course dates.
Free parking is available close to the stable block.
